What's Included In a Standard AC Tune-Up?
- Check refrigerant levels to ensure proper charge and inspect for leaks.
- Thoroughly clean the outdoor unit, including removing the top to clear out built-up debris such as yard trimmings, dirt, leaves, and pet hair.
- Inspect common failutre points (capacitors, contactors, fan motors, etc.) to catch potential issues before they cause a breakdown.
- Check and replace air filters using the customer’s own filter, or one provided by the technician.
- Clear and flush indoor condensate drain lines to prevent water damage from backups.
- Lubricate moving parts as needed to reduce wear and extend component life.
- Inspect electrical connections, manipulating wires to prevent brittleness, checking for scorching or burning, and tightening connections as necessary.
- Test temperature drop to ensure proper cooling, and verify overall system performance and safety.
