Professional Sump Pump Replacement, Installation, and Repair
New Pump Installation & Replacement
Don’t wait until the rain starts to fall, because by then, it will already be too late. We can replace existing rusted or aged systems, or install new units in an area that have never had one (but need it).
We offer FREE estimates on sump pumps. Our plumber can come out to determine the materials and equipment needed, and provide pricing while on site.
Sump Pump Repair & Maintenance
We can test your sump pump systems, and fix any issues that may arise. If your pump is running constantly, making strange clanging noises, or simply refusing to turn on, then call us today. Our team can replace broken float switches, clear jammed impellers, clean basin check valves, and test discharge lines to get your current unit back up and running.
Battery Backup Or Home Generator Solutions
When the power inevitably goes out, we can help keep your sump pump running with one of two options.
As a Generac authorized dealer, we can install a whole home backup generator that can power your sump pump, furnace & air conditioner, lights, and so much more. Or, if a whole home generator isn’t needed, battery backups can be wired in to keep just the sump pump running when the lights go off.
Sump Pump Frequently Asked Questions
What does a sump pump do?
A sump pump helps remove water from a basement, crawlspace, or lower level before it can cause damage. Water collects in a sump pit, and when the water reaches a certain level, the pump turns on and moves the water away from the home through a discharge line.
Sump pumps are especially important for homes that regularly flood to prevent mold and structural damage.
How long does a sump pump typically last?
Many sump pump systems last around 7-10 years, depending on how often they run, the amount of water they handle, and whether they are cleaned or maintained.
If your pump is near or past this age, it may be worth scheduling a maintenance to test, or FREE quote to replace, before it fails during a heavy rain.
Should I install a battery backup for my sump pump?
Yes. As heavy rainfall is often paired with power outages, a battery backup or home generator are recommended for homes with sump pumps, as sump pumps rely on electricity to function.
A sump pump battery backup can typically run a pump for 5-6 hours of continuous use. For those concerned that their sump pump may need to run for an extended period, a whole home generator backup may be a better solution. Whole home generators can power not only your sump pump, but your lights, garage door, stove, HVAC system, and more for days if needed until power is restored.
Kingdom Air can install both sump pump battery backups, and Generac whole home generators.
Where does sump pump water discharge?
Sump pump water will discharge away from the home’s foundation in a location where it can drain safely. Drains should be ran to release pumped water away from the home where it would otherwise run back toward the flooded area.
What can I do if my sump pump isn't working?
First make sure that your sump pump has power. Make sure it is plugged in, and check the outlet to see if a breaker or GFCI outlet has been tripped. If it still is not turning on, if it is safe to do so, look inside the sump pit to make sure that the float switch is not stuck and that debris are not blocking the pump.
If the pump has power but will not turn on, is humming, running constantly, or the pit is filling with water, it may have a bad motor, stuck float, clogged pump, bad check valve, or discharge line problem. If you know where the line discharges, you can check to make sure the line is not blocked or covered.
If all else fails, Kingdom Air provides emergency sump pump repair. Call our office anytime at 812-486-3840 to schedule service.
