The one word that describes Kingdom Air is outstanding. They replaced our water heater, A/C unit and furnace. The whole team is professional and courteous from the installation and communication with us through the whole process. After they were finished they made sure no trash was left behind and for such a big job they cleaned up like they weren't even there. We highly recommend they really look after their customers.

Signs Your Home Needs Professional Drain Cleaning

Don’t wait for your pipes to overflow completely. If you experience any of these common early warning signs, or team can clear the line safely before an emergency arises.

  • Slow Draining Tubs & Sinks: Water is lingering long after the faucet is turned off.
  • Frequent or Recurring Clogs: Stubborn blockages that keep coming back no matter how many gallons of corrosive chemicals you pour down the drain.
  • Gurgling or Bubbling Sounds: Trapped air pockets escaping through toilets or floor drains.
  • Foul, Sewage-Like Odors: Decaying organic waste or sewer gases leaking back up into your living spaces.

Frequently Asked Drain Cleaning Questions

Why is is bad to use drain cleaners to fix a clog?

Store-bought chemical cleaners can contain harsh, corrosive acids that can warp PVC lines, eat through older cast iron pipes, and create toxic fumes, all while failing to clear the actual blockage completely. The longer the chemical sits, especially when it fails to clear the clog, the more damaging it becomes.

If you pour drain cleaner down the drain and the clog doesn’t go away, it becomes another hazard to deal with as you are either forced to continue to plunge or run snakes with the chemical present.

For sinks, tubs, and flat drains, a standard red cup-style plunger is usually the best choice. The flat rubber cup can cover the drain opening and create the suction needed to loosen many common clogs.

For toilets, a flange plunger is usually the better option. The extra rubber flap, or flange, is designed to fit into the toilet drain opening and create a stronger seal than a basic cup plunger.

Accordion-style plungers are also made for toilets and can create strong pressure, but they are less commonly used and can be harder to handle. For most homeowners, a cup plunger is best for sinks and a flange plunger is best for toilets.

An educational plumbing infographic from Kingdom Air titled 'Did You Know' comparing three types of plungers: a classic red cup plunger, a black flange plunger, and a plastic accordion plunger. The graphic explains that the flat red plunger is actually the worst choice for toilets.

Drains can clog from improperly disposed cooking crease, food scraps, soap scum, hair, toothpaste, dirt, mineral buildup, wipes, tree roots, or aging and failing pipes. In kitchens, grease and food buildup are the most common causes. In bathrooms, hair and soap residue are often the problem. In basements or floor drains, dirt, debris, or main line issues may be the cause.

In instances of collapsing pipes, mineral buildup that is present throughout the entire system, or tree root intrusion, Kingdom Air also provides partial & whole-home repiping

Run a substantial amount of hot water and dish soap to help break up the grease before it cools and hardens inside the drain. You should not regularly dump grease down the kitchen sink, as this tip will not work all of the time.

If your sink starts draining slowly, gurgling, smelling bad, or backing up, the grease may have collected inside the drain line. Grease can stick to the inside of plumbing and catch food and other particles, eventually causing a clog. If this is already happening, it is best to call a plumber for professional drain cleaning before a blockage gets worse.

If more than one drain is backing up, the problem will typically lay in the main drain or sewer line. If one of these lines experiences a partial or full clog or collapse, you may notice warning signs such as bubbling toilets, tubs backing up when a toilet is flushed, floor drains overflowing, or several fixtures draining slowly at once.

Multiple clogged drains should be looked at quickly, as they can lead to sewage backups, water damage, or more serious plumbing issues. Kingdom Air does offer after hours and emergency service on a first come, first served basis.
