What's Included In a Standard Furnace Tune-Up and Safety Inspection?
- Inspect heat exchanger with camera for cracks, corrosion, or damage that could lead to dangerous carbon monoxide leaks.
- Check ignition system (pilot light, flame sensor, or ignitor) for proper function, specs, and reliability.
- Test operation of safety controls including high-limit switches, rollout sensors, and pressure switches to ensure safe operation.
- Inspect burners.
- Measure and adjust gas pressure as needed.
- Inspect and adjust electrical connections to test for brittleness, scorching or loose terminals caused by vibration.
- Lubricate necessary moving parts as needed.
- Check air filter and replace with filter customer provides.
- Verify proper thermostat operation.
- Measure temperature rise across system to confirm proper heat output.
